A Week of Celebrating Post-War Ceramics

Asia Week New York: March 2024 Recap
March 25, 2024
A Week of Celebrating Post-War Ceramics

We are thrilled by the overwhelmingly inquisitive and positive response to our latest exhibition, "Ceramic Frontiers: Sodeisha & Shikokai in Post-war Japanese Art"! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us for the opening reception, where friends, colleagues, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts alike came together to celebrate the remarkable works that define a pivotal chapter in the history of Japanese ceramic art.

A special acknowledgment is due to our esteemed guest essayists, Kazuko Todate and Daniel McOwan, whose profound insights and scholarly contributions have enriched our understanding of the subject matter. Their thought-provoking essays have been instrumental in shaping the success of this exhibition, and we are truly grateful for their invaluable contributions.

The stars of the show were Hayashi Yasuo, Suzuki Osamu, Yagi Kazuo & more. These are the artists who have shaped the landscape of modern sculptural ceramics in Japan.

As Asia Week comes to a close and continues to thrive, we thank all who have expressed interest in the connoisseurship of avant-garde ceramics, and those who are an integral part of the ceramics community in North America and beyond!
