Biography
1964 Born as the eldest son of the late Kato Seizo XIII, a master potter in Mino tradition
1982 Studied under the late Yamamoto Toshu, a Living National Treasure
1987 Graduated from Nagoya University of The Arts, Majoring of Sculpture
1999 Received the Mino Ceramic Grand Prize
Added to the permanent collection of The Museum of Modern Ceramic Art, Gifu
2001 Succeeded as the 14th-generation Mino potter and took the name Kato Yasukage
2003 Awarded the Shoroku Prize at the Mino Shoroku Award Tea Bowl Exhibition
Added to the permanent collection
Held a solo exhibition in New York
Participated in "Modern Japanese Ceramics: Tradition and Innovation"
Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum
2006 Held a solo exhibition, SOFA New York
