As the 13th generation of the celebrated Miwa ceramics dynasty of Hagi, Miwa Kazuhiko is the third sone of the Living National Treasure, Miwa Kyusetsu XI. Celebrated for his dynamic, geometric interpretation of form within Hagi ware, his vessels retain a sculptural quality that are internationally beloved.
Kazuhiko studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, which afforded him an artistic freedom inspired by artists such as Peter Voulkos. He assumed the family title of Kyusetsu in 2019.
