Takiguchi Kiheiji displays his distinctive Mino clay through traditional motif decorations. Born in Asakusa, Tokyo, he trained at the Kato Juemon Kiln between 1961 and 1965, before going on to establish his own Yashichida Kiln Site in Oogaya. His work has been well received among Japanese and international collections. His work takes on the antique, playful character of traditional Mino wares including kiseto, Oribe, Shino, and others.
