Higashida Shigemasa (b. 1955)’s Oribe glazes are fresh, with a vivid and young green. His decisive cuts on the clay surface creates a juxtaposition between the smooth oribe surface, and the rugged clay. A touch of salt glaze at the bottom sparked some red from the firing flame.
