INAYOSHI Osamu (b. 1976) is a ceramicist making a name for himself in the Tokyo and Kyoto scene. He was born in 1976 and trained in Mino and Seto, where he took an interest in historical pottery techniques. Inayoshi is largely inspired by the pottery produced in Atsumi kilns (渥美窯 Atsumigama), which consisted of efficacious and secular functional wares, such as urns, sutra containers, small plates, roofing tiles for the temples in the area and more. His interest lies in ceramics dating back to the Heian period.
This guinomi shows a Shino glazed mixed with ash, with slight geometric patterns in the way the glaze drips around the edges.
