Miwa Kyusetsu (1910-2012, Living National Treasure)’s father was the creator of Kyusetsuwhite (休雪白). This White Hagi water jar exemplifies this type of Kyusetsuwhite. A special feldspar along with white ash glaze became the known characteristic of Miwa Kyusetsu. This uniquely square white water jar adorned with creamy white thick ash glaze exposes red clay from Hagi river. It is an excellent work from this Living National Treasure.
