Uchida Koichi 内田鋼一 Japanese, b. 1969

Uchida Koichi was born in Nagoya, and studied at the Seto Ceramic High School, graduating in 1990. In 1992, he established his kiln in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture. Having been extensively exhibited in Tokyo’s National Museum of Modern Art, Uchida Koichi’s production of tea wares combine traditional methods with innovative talent and flair, adding metallic sheens on traditional stoneware glazes.
